Sea Prayer


Khaled Hosseini is back again with his new book “Sea Prayer”.





Now, if you are a reader, his name is not new for you. For those of you who read less, Khaled Hosseini is a master at storytelling (and poetry as it turns out!).


Khaled Hosseini has delivered 3 masterpieces before this one:

       

          1. The Kite Runner (His most acclaimed work)

          2. A Thousand Splendid Suns 

          3. And the Mountains Echoed

All the three of which are a masterpiece, and must reads.




I was expecting another amazing novel, a long lazy read to dive into and forget everything else.


What I got was a beautifully written, and accompanied by awesome illustrations (paintings), a book with 50 pages of beauty.


Yes, Its a poem. 


A very beautiful, strong and heartbreaking piece of writing.


The poem is about a father, who along with his wife and son is ready to live his motherland for a refugee camp somewhere far away.


He tells his son about the beauty of his land when the sky did not spit bombs and when there was humanity left.


The illustrations, by Dan Williams definitely do justice to the poem and add to the beauty.



It’s a short, yet very powerful poem.


Read it at least once to experience the beauty of Khaled Hosseini’s words. I am sure you will thank me for this recommendation.


And yes, try to read his previous works too!

Isn't this enough?

The Aquaman and SHAZAM trailers recently released at the SAN DIEGO Comic-con gave the DC fans a hope of revival, especially after the badly turned out Justice League. It can be clearly seen that DC is trying to get it together finally.   But is it too late? MARVEL (MCU), currently having the absolute monopoly over the superhero genre of cinema, has churned out 18 superhero movies since their cinema debut in 2008. Before that, in the 2000’s, X-MEN ruled in this genre. This franchise too, has 11 movies till date. That’s a lot of superheroes! And now, amidst this saturation of movies, DC plans to reintroduce or rather reboot their superhero movies under the name DC (unofficially DCEU).
